12 Peacock Carcasses Found in Rajasthan Tiger Reserve Buffer Zone

Carcasses of 12 peacocks, aged two to seven days, found in Ramgarh Vishdhari Tiger Reserve buffer zone in Bundi.
•
Officials suspect disease as the cause of death; no evidence of hunting or poisoning found.
•
Post-mortem conducted, samples sent for examination to ascertain exact cause of death.
•
Seven turtles also found dead near a water body in the territorial area of the tiger reserve, possibly due to suffocation.
•
Peacocks and turtles are highly protected under the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972.
