5 Students Drown in Odisha: 3 After Exams, 2 Girls in Pond Incidents

•Five school students, including two girls, drowned in separate incidents in Odisha’s Koraput and Mayurbhanj districts.
•Three Class 10 students (Lingaraj Khil, Swastik, Om Prakash) drowned in Kolab reservoir backwaters in Koraput after completing board exams.
•Locals rescued them and rushed to Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College, where they were declared dead; investigation is underway.
•Families allege negligence by the school and demand a thorough probe; students were hostel boarders.
•In Mayurbhanj, two Class 2 girls (Subhasandhya Nayak, Rajalaxmi Sankhual) drowned in a pond near Nachhipur village after school.
