Balochistan Killings Intensify Scrutiny of Pakistan's Security Role
•Three young men—Niaz Baloch, Zakir Baloch, and Amar Ali—were shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Parom, Panjgur district, Balochistan on March 8.
•Local sources and The Balochistan Post allege the killings were carried out by a “death squad,” described as state-backed militias, a claim Pakistani authorities have not addressed.
•The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) condemned the incident, highlighting a pattern of violence targeting civilians, intellectuals, and cultural figures in the province.
•BYC cited recent killings of University of Balochistan lecturer Dilawar Khan, Balochi singer Talib Nazeer, and driver Fateh Baloch, whose body was found after detention near a military camp.
•The BYC urged the United Nations and international rights organizations to launch independent investigations into these serious human rights violations.
