CCI Dismisses Market Dominance Complaint Against IndiGo, Air India
•
The Competition Commission of India (CCI) dismissed a complaint alleging abuse of market dominance by IndiGo (InterGlobe Aviation) and Air India.
•
The complaint claimed IndiGo held over 65% and Air India around 27% of the domestic aviation market, totaling approximately 90%.
•
Allegations included unconscionable cancellation charges and arbitrary conditions for services.
•
CCI found no prima facie violation of competition law, noting transparent refund policies and options for refundable tickets.
•
The regulator also rejected a request for a joint investigation with a separate case concerning IndiGo's mass flight cancellations in December 2025.
