•A bomb threat email was sent to the Passport Office in Coimbatore's Chitra area on Tuesday.
•Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) personnel conducted thorough checks of the premises.
•Police have launched an investigation to trace the source and authenticity of the email.
•Similar bomb threats were reported earlier in Delhi at Axis Bank and four schools, causing panic.
