A 58-year-old man, Jagdish Yadav, allegedly drunk, climbed a 50-foot high-tension pole in Ugapur village, Bhadohi, UP.
•
He perched himself between two 11,000-volt wires, causing panic and a two-hour rescue operation.
•
Police and fire department coordinated to keep power supply shut and eventually used a ladder to bring him down safely.
•
Despite appeals, he refused to descend due to heavy intoxication, talking incoherently.
•
Yadav, a habitual drinker, was handed over to his family; no injuries were reported.
