Father of Absconding Doctor Arrested for Aiding Hit-and-Run Accused

•George Mathew, father of Dr Cyriac, arrested in Kochi for helping his son evade arrest in a hit-and-run case.
•Dr Cyriac is accused in the death of 19-year-old Jasliya Johnson, who was declared brain dead after the February 28 accident.
•Mathew allegedly met Cyriac after the incident and assisted him in going into hiding; the vehicle involved was also registered in Mathew’s name.
•Dr Cyriac, a house surgeon in Ernakulam, has been absconding since the incident and has sought anticipatory bail.
•Jasliya Johnson's organs were donated after her parents consented on March 3.
