FCI: Region-wise PDS diversion data 'not traceable' at HQ; CIC issues notice

•FCI informed CIC that region-wise data on PDS food grain diversion is not traceable at its headquarters.
•The response came to an RTI application seeking details on PDS release order diversions from 2018-19 to 2022-23.
•FCI headquarters transferred the RTI to regional offices, stating the information pertained to them.
•Despite transfer, regional offices failed to provide the requested information to the applicant.
•CIC issued a show-cause notice to CPIOs of regional offices for penalty proceedings under RTI Act Section 20(1).
