Haryana Deploys AI for Rapid TB Elimination: Three Tools Boost Detection & Treatment
•Haryana has deployed three AI-based tools under the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan to strengthen TB detection, treatment, and geographic planning.
•Cough Against TB (CATB) mobile app analyzes cough sounds and symptoms for presumptive pulmonary TB screening; 140 cases flagged since its February 2025 launch.
•Vulnerability Mapping for Tuberculosis (VM-TB) is an AI-driven geospatial tool that identifies 2,111 high-risk villages for targeted outreach and screening.
•Prediction of Adverse TB Outcomes (PATO) identifies 18,591 high-risk patients from Ni-kshay data for closer monitoring since its April 2023 deployment.
•Additional Chief Secretary Sumita Misra stated these tools enhance efficiency, strengthen frontline decision-making, and accelerate progress towards a TB-mukt Haryana.
