Indefinite Night Curfew Imposed in Meghalaya's West Garo Hills Amid Violence

•Authorities in Meghalaya’s West Garo Hills district imposed an indefinite night curfew due to violence and threats to public safety.
•The order, issued by District Magistrate Vibhor Aggarwal, is under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023.
•The curfew will be enforced from 6 pm to 6 am daily until further notice, restricting movement outside residences.
•Incidents of violence, clashes, arson, and property damage have been reported in Tura and surrounding areas.
•Mobile internet services were also temporarily suspended to prevent the spread of rumors and mobilization.
