•The Indian Youth boxing team made a strong start at the World Boxing Futures Cup 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand.
•Joyshree Devi Chirom (women’s 54kg) secured a Referee Stopped Contest (RSC) victory against Tajikistan.
•Ambekar Meetei Lairenlakpam (men’s 50kg) and Sahil Duhan (men’s 60kg) won 5-0 unanimous decisions against opponents from the Philippines and China.
•The tournament, held from March 8 to 15, is a key step for Youth Olympic Games qualification and preparation.
•Indian youth boxers previously clinched 7 medals at the 3rd Asian Youth Games, marking their best-ever continental performance.
