Indian National Charged in Singapore for Molesting Air Stewardess on Flight
•Akash Tiwari, 35, an Indian national, was charged in Singapore for allegedly molesting and harassing an air stewardess on a Singapore Airlines flight from Bangkok to Singapore on February 9.
•Tiwari is accused of using criminal force to outrage the modesty of the victim through non-consensual physical contact and causing distress with threatening behavior.
•The incident occurred when the air stewardess was serving Tiwari near his seat; she immediately warned him to stop and reported the incident.
•Police were alerted around 4:30 pm on the day of the incident and arrested Tiwari after the plane landed.
•Tiwari has indicated he will plead not guilty and is scheduled for a pre-trial conference on March 26; penalties include jail, fine, or caning for such offenses.
