Jharkhand CID Busts Rs 2.07 Crore Fake Trading App Scam, Arrests Key Accused
- •Jharkhand CID arrested Abhishek Bera (26) from West Bengal for defrauding a person of Rs 2.07 crore through fake investment and trading apps.
- •The victim was lured into a WhatsApp group with attractive trading offers and transferred money to various bank accounts.
- •The arrest was made with the assistance of North 24 Parganas Police, following a complaint filed on December 16.
- •Separately, police in Deoghar district arrested six cyber criminals impersonating e-commerce officials.
- •These criminals operated from Dasadih area, using fake mobile numbers to commit online fraud; 11 mobile phones and 13 SIM cards were seized.
