JU Student Assaulted After Freshers' Event, Hospitalized in Critical Condition

•A Jadavpur University postgraduate student, Priyam Chatterjee, was allegedly assaulted on campus after a freshers' event.
•Chatterjee was reportedly dragged from the event by members of 'Collective (DSF)' and beaten near the Faculty of Engineering & Technology.
•Professors intervened, rescued the student, and took him to Aurobindo Bhavan, where he allegedly fell unconscious.
•Tension escalated as the same group reportedly gheraoed Aurobindo Bhavan, blocking entry and exit.
•The injured student was admitted to KPC Medical College and Hospital; an SFI leader linked the attack to a prior campus clash.
