Kerala government nominated former Congress leader A V Gopinath to the Guruvayoor Devaswom Board, which manages the Guruvayur Sree Krishna Temple.
•
Gopinath, an ex-MLA, is likely to be appointed as the new chairman of the board.
•
A V Gopinath and M U Shinija, the two newly nominated members, will take oath at an auditorium in Thrissur on Sunday.
•
Gopinath was suspended from Congress in 2023 for participating in the LDF government’s ‘Navakerala Sadas’ programme.
•
He recently contested local body elections in Peringottukurissi Panchayat with CPI(M) support but lost.
