Man who killed 18-year-old woman arrested in UP's Basti after encounter

•Mandeep Paswan, 22, accused of shooting dead an 18-year-old woman on March 2 in Kalvari area, Basti, was arrested.
•Paswan sustained a bullet injury to his right knee during an exchange of fire with police.
•Head constable Arvind Singh also injured on his right shoulder; both admitted to Community Health Centre in Bahadurpur.
•Accused had previously molested the victim; faced charges under BNS, IT Act, and POCSO Act.
•A pistol and cartridges were recovered from Paswan during the joint operation by Kalwari police, SWAT, and SOG.
