Rare Honey Badger Spotted in Bengal's Jhargram Forests

A rare honey badger (Mellivora capensis) was spotted in West Bengal's Jhargram district, captured by a trap camera.

This marks possibly the second recorded sighting of the honey badger in the state, both in Jhargram.

The sighting occurred in the Belpahari forests, part of the 'Junglemahal belt', where a bear was also recently seen.

Forest Minister Birbaha Hansda expressed happiness, noting robust biodiversity in Jhargram's forests.
