Rohtak Road Storm Drain Project Nears Completion, Promises End to Waterlogging
•Rohtak Road storm water drain project is in its final stage, promising long-awaited relief from monsoon waterlogging for thousands in West Delhi.
•PWD minister Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma inspected the project, expressing satisfaction and highlighting benefits for Kirari and surrounding areas.
•The Rs 113.98 crore project involves developing drains from Kirari Suleman Drain to Hiran Kudna Drain, covering key stretches like Metro Pillar No. 428 to 626.
•Around 16,000 metres of the RCC drain (1.2m-2.25m width) have been completed, with approximately 2,200 metres remaining; work began in February 2025.
•An additional Rs 23.51 crore Irrigation and Flood Control project, now completed, strengthens the drainage system by diverting discharge from Kirari Suleman Drain into the Supplementary Drain.
