Taiwan detects 26 PLA aircraft, 7 PLAN vessels near territory; 16 enter ADIZ
•Taiwan’s Ministry of Defence detected 26 People’s Liberation Army (PLA) aircraft sorties and 7 People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) vessels around its territory up to 6 am Sunday.
•Sixteen of the 26 PLA aircraft entered Taiwan’s northern, central, and southwestern Air Defence Identification Zone (ADIZ).
•Taiwanese forces monitored the situation and responded to the incursions.
•Earlier, on Thursday, Taiwan detected 5 Chinese aircraft and 6 naval vessels, with 3 aircraft crossing the median line into ADIZ.
•China claims Taiwan as an inseparable part, while Taiwan maintains a distinct, de facto independent identity with its own government and military.
