Wayanad Landslide: Kerala Govt Announces Rs 7 Lakh Compensation for Shop Owners

Kerala government announces compensation for shop owners and entrepreneurs affected by the Mundakkai-Chooralmala landslide in Wayanad.
•
Shops destroyed in the landslide will receive Rs 7 lakh each, with an additional Rs 2.5 lakh for each extra shop room lost by an owner.
•
Entrepreneurs will receive up to 50% of losses, capped at Rs 20 lakh for manufacturing, Rs 10 lakh for service, and Rs 7 lakh for trade.
•
Funds will be disbursed from the Chief Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund.
•
The Mundakkai-Chooralmala disaster occurred on July 30, 2024, causing significant damage and loss of life.
