Yamuna Froth at Kalindi Kunj Linked to Okhla Barrage Conditions: Water Minister

•Delhi Water Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma stated froth on Yamuna at Kalindi Kunj is due to structural and flow conditions at Okhla barrage.
•An inspection was conducted at Kalindi Kunj and nearby Yamuna ghat areas by the minister and experts.
•Experts highlighted the froth formation is a localized phenomenon caused by water falling with force at the barrage, creating turbulence.
•Existing impurities, surfactants from household detergents, and discharge from illegal dyeing units contribute to the froth.
•Waste from laundry clusters, dhobi ghats, and untreated wastewater also add to the overall pollution load.
