Wainganga-Nalganga Project Gets ₹94,967 Cr Approval; 6 Vidarbha Districts to Benefit

State government approves Wainganga-Nalganga river linking project with ₹94,967 crore to solve Vidarbha's irrigation problem.

Project aims to irrigate 3.71 lakh hectares across 6 Vidarbha districts: Nagpur, Wardha, Amravati, Yavatmal, Akola, Buldhana.
•
64 TMC water from Gosikhurd Dam to be lifted via a 388 km canal, benefiting Amravati district's Dharni and Nandgaon Khandeshwar talukas.
•
Construction includes small/large storage tanks, main and sub-canals for agriculture, drinking, and industrial water supply.

Rehabilitation of 109 villages (26 fully, 83 partially affected) and 15,640 citizens is a key concern; project is in survey phase.
