India's CPI Inflation Rises to 3.21% in February; Food Inflation Jumps
•India's retail CPI inflation rose to 3.21% in February 2026; food inflation jumped to 3.47% from 2.13% in January.
•Personal care and miscellaneous goods (19.64%), paan, tobacco, intoxicants (3.49%), and food and beverages (3.35%) were major inflation drivers.
•Transport inflation remained negative at -0.05%, indicating easing costs in that segment.
•Silver jewellery (160.84%), gold/diamond/platinum jewellery (48.16%), coconut (46.16%), tomato (45.29%), and cauliflower (43.77%) saw the highest price increases.
•Garlic (-31.09%), onion (-28.20%), potato (-18.46%) experienced significant price declines; Telangana recorded the highest state CPI inflation at 5.02%.
