•The incident occurred at a courier office in Vinayaka Circle, Vyalikaval, where staff found the man struggling to breathe inside the sack.
•The family insisted on sending the 'human parcel' despite staff concerns, leading to an escalation and police involvement.
•Police tracked down the family, who stated the act was a protest against rising bus fares and ticket unavailability during Ugadi-Ramzan.
•The family, including the woman whose father was in the sack, was counselled by police and issued an apology.
