Chennai-Bengaluru Expressway: Phase III 90% Complete, Set for July Finish, Says Gadkari

•Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced that 90% of Phase III work on the Chennai-Bengaluru Expressway is complete, with three packages expected by July.
•Phase III covers 106 km across Andhra Pradesh (12 km) and Tamil Nadu (94 km), undertaken in four hybrid annuity mode (HAM) packages.
•Initial delays due to land acquisition, utility shifting, railway, and forest clearances have been resolved, with no pending issues now.
•Three packages (Gudipala-Walajahpet, Walajahpet-Arakonam, Kanchepuram-Sriperumbudur) totaling 80.2 km have achieved approximately 90% physical progress.
•Work on the remaining 25.5 km Arakonam-Kanchepuram section stopped in May 2025 due to the concessionaire's financial constraints; substitution is underway.
