Not Sachin: This 16-year-old holds the ODI youngest centurion record!
•
Former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi holds the world record for the youngest centurion in ODI history, achieving it at 16 years and 217 days.
•
Afridi scored his century in just 37 balls against Sri Lanka in 1996, setting a record for the fastest ODI century at the time.
•
He hit 11 sixes and 6 fours, scoring 102 runs off 40 balls in only his second ODI match.
•
Interestingly, Afridi made this record using a bat gifted by Sachin Tendulkar to Waqar Younis, which Waqar then passed to Afridi.
•
Afridi's record-breaking innings took place during the KCA Centenary Tournament in Nairobi, Kenya.
