Amit Shah Unveils 'Pragati', 'Vikas' Mascots & Digital Tools for First Fully Digital Census-2027

•Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched 'Pragati' and 'Vikas' mascots for Census-2027, symbolizing developed India by 2047.
•Soft-launched four digital tools: HLBC web app, HLO mobile app, Self-enumeration portal, and CMMS for the first fully digital Census.
•The Rs 11,718 crore Census-2027 will be the 16th headcount, including caste enumeration and offering self-enumeration.
•Conducted in two phases: Houselisting (April-Sept 2026) and Population Enumeration (Feb 2027), postponed from 2021.
•Digital platforms developed by C-DAC will facilitate operations, with CMMS orchestrating 3.2 million field functionaries.
