Haryana Police Digital Crackdown: 1,018 Objectionable Social Media Links Reported
- •Haryana Police launched a month-long digital crackdown on illegal and objectionable social media activities to curb misinformation, fraud, and content threatening public harmony.
- •The initiative, led by Cyber Haryana in collaboration with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, has reported 1,018 links and profiles.
- •Out of the reported links, 583 have already been removed or blocked, with the remaining 435 under review for removal.
- •Police are targeting anti-national, anti-religion, misleading content, and posts inciting tension, using Section 79 of the IT Act for content removal.
