NCERT apologizes for 'offending chapter' on judiciary corruption in Class 8 book
•
NCERT issued an "unconditional and unqualified" public apology for a chapter on judiciary corruption in a Class 8 textbook.
•
The chapter, titled "The Role of Judiciary in our Society," was part of "Exploring Society: India and Beyond," Grade 8 (Part II).

•
The contentious chapter highlighted corruption, case backlogs, and a shortage of judges as challenges faced by the judicial system.
