Noida Techie Death: Two More Builders Arrested, Fresh FIR for Pollution Violations
- •Two more builders, Ravi Bansal and Sachin Karnwal, were arrested in connection with the death of Yuvraj Mehta, a software engineer who drowned in a waterlogged trench in Noida's Sector 150.
- •Yuvraj Mehta, 27, died after his car fell into a water-filled pit near a construction site on January 16-17, frantically pleading for help for two hours.
- •A fresh FIR was lodged against five builders from Lotus Greens Construction Pvt Ltd and MZ Wiztown Planners Pvt Ltd for environmental and pollution law violations related to the pit.
- •The pit, located at plot SC-02/A3 in Sector 150, was found to be very deep, waterlogged for years, lacking safety measures, and causing pollution and public nuisance.
- •A Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed by the Uttar Pradesh government is probing the matter and has sought details from Noida Authority departments, with a report due by Saturday.
