Retired Teacher Loses ₹99 Lakh in Gandhinagar Digital Arrest Cyber Fraud

A 65-year-old retired teacher in Gandhinagar was swindled out of ₹99 lakh by cyber fraudsters.

Fraudsters posed as central investigation officers, claiming her SIM was used for illegal activities.
•
She was subjected to a 'digital arrest' for 28 days, with constant surveillance and threats of arrest.
•
Fake documents, including Supreme Court orders and arrest warrants, were used to legitimize the scam.
•
The victim transferred funds from her SBI and Post Office accounts between February 5 and 13, fearing legal action.
