Tata Power Boosts UP's Power Grid with Two New 765 kV Transmission Lines
- •Tata Power has commissioned two 765 kV Extra High Voltage (EHV) transmission corridors in Uttar Pradesh: Mainpuri-Bara (380 CKM) and Mainpuri-Unnao (194 CKM).
- •These lines, part of the SEUPPTCL project, will enable the transmission of approximately 3000 MW of thermal power, improving UP's energy supply.
- •The project, completed by Resurgent Power Ventures, involved significant engineering challenges, including 42,000 MT of steel and 6,900 km of conductor stringing.
- •Despite complex crossings and forest areas, the project was completed on time, adhering to high quality and safety standards.
- •This expansion increases Tata Power's operational transmission lines to 5,312 CKM, with 1,997 CKM under construction, strengthening India's grid infrastructure.
Why It Matters: Tata Power's new 765 kV lines significantly enhance Uttar Pradesh's power transmission capacity and grid reliability.
