Clerics in India confirmed the March 21 date after the crescent moon was not sighted on Thursday, March 19.

The UAE declared Friday, March 20, as Eid-ul-Fitr after the crescent moon was sighted in Abu Dhabi.

This variation is due to different timings in the sighting of the Shawwal crescent moon.
•
Eid prayers in UAE are scheduled between 6:30 AM and 6:50 AM, depending on local sunrise times.
