IEX Power Trade Surges 2.8% in Dec; Green Market Flat, REC Volumes Dip
- •Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) recorded a 2.8% year-on-year rise in electricity traded volumes, reaching 11.44 billion units (BU) in December 2025.
- •Day-Ahead Market (DAM) volumes declined by 11.6% to 5,899 million units (MU), while Real-Time Electricity Market (RTM) volumes surged 20.5% to 3,833 MU.
- •Day-Ahead Contingency and Term-Ahead Market (TAM) saw an 87% jump in volumes, totaling 931 MU.
- •IEX Green Market volumes remained nearly flat, marginally down 0.5% to 777 MU, with a weighted average price of ₹4.21 per unit in G-DAM.
- •Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) Market activity was subdued, with traded volumes declining 53.7% year-on-year to 7.7 lakh RECs.
