Nifty Dips Below 23,650 as Banks, Autos Drag; Sensex Plunges 829 Points

Nifty Dips Below 23,650 as Banks, Autos Drag; Sensex Plunges 829 Points

•Indian markets closed lower for the second straight session, failing to hold intraday recovery.
•Sensex dropped 829 points to 76,034; Nifty fell 228 points to 23,639, slipping below 23,650.
•Banking and auto stocks led the decline; Nifty Auto index down over 6% in two sessions.
•M&M, Maruti Suzuki, and Eicher Motors were among the top auto losers; Nifty Bank slid 635 points.
•Coal India gained nearly 5%; Aarti Industries rose over 5% after securing a $150 million agrochemical contract.
