Director Rohit Shetty has firmly dismissed rumors linking Golmaal 5 to the 1980 film Do Aur Do Paanch.
•
Rohit Shetty Picturez issued a strict clarification, calling reports of creative overlap "factually incorrect, misleading and completely untrue."

Producer Deepak Mukut, who owns the rights to Do Aur Do Do Paanch, confirmed a new project based on the film is in scripting.

Mukut had previously planned a remake a decade ago with Abhishek Bachchan and Bobby Deol in lead roles.

He is now revisiting the idea, considering a remake, sequel, or inspired film, and hopes to cast Abhishek and Bobby Deol again.
