23 Indian Fishermen Released from Bangladesh Jail, Set to Return Home
- •23 Indian fishermen, previously held captive, have been released from Bagerhat Jail in Bangladesh.
- •Bangladesh Central Home Ministry Deputy Secretary Mohammad Hafeez Al Asad and the Home Minister attended the release event from Dhaka.
- •Indian Deputy High Commissioner Shri Chandra Jeet and a High Commission Counselor visited the jail and met with Bangladeshi officials.
- •Vasupalli Janakiram, President of the East Coast Mechanized Fishing Boat Owners Association, completed documentation for the release.
- •The fishermen will be transported to Mongla Port, then handed over to Indian Coast Guard in international waters on the 29th.
