The couple, who knew each other since childhood, married at Annavaram Satyanarayana Swamy Temple despite caste differences and family opposition.

Sandhya's brothers, Chandrapal and Giribabu, conspired to kill Suryaprakash Rao after Sandhya sent them wedding photos.

The brothers lured Sandhya out of the house, then attacked Suryaprakash Rao with a boulder, killing him on the spot.

Locals apprehended the accused brothers and handed them over to the police; the incident has sparked outrage over honour killings.
