•A retired teacher from Bapatla district lost over Rs. 1 crore to cybercriminals after falling for a Facebook acquaintance.
•The victim, Ponnam Venkateswarlu, was befriended by a fake profile named 'Kandukuri Mounika' who claimed to be in the UK.
•The scammer lured him into an 'online trading' scheme, promising huge profits through an international platform.
•Venkateswarlu transferred approximately Rs. 1.10 crore in installments to specified bank accounts.
•Police warn against 'investment scams,' unknown links, and fake profiles, advising caution, especially for retired employees.
