BHU's First Female Neurosurgeon Dr. Neeti Rejects Lucrative Offers to Serve Poor
•Dr. Neeti, from a poor family in Koderma, Jharkhand, became the first female neurosurgeon from Banaras Hindu University (BHU), overcoming financial challenges and societal norms.
•Her father gave her 'one chance' for medical entrance; she secured 249th rank in AIPMT 2012, then completed MBBS from Lady Hardinge Medical College and PG from UCMS, all in first attempts.
•Despite advice to choose easier fields like gynecology, she pursued neurosurgery, a male-dominated specialty, and achieved MCh from BHU, making her its first female neurosurgeon.
•She rejected lucrative job offers from top hospitals to join Khan Sir's hospital in Patna, driven by a mission to provide better treatment and awareness to poor and economically weaker patients.
•Dr. Neeti currently handles 100-150 OPD patients daily at Khan Healthcare, serving patients from Bihar, Jharkhand, Nepal, and Uttar Pradesh, aiming to make it a top neurosurgery center.
