Wild Elephant Dies of Electrocution in Aurangabad After Month-Long Havoc

•A wild elephant, strayed from Jharkhand's Palamu forest, died in Aurangabad district, suspected to be from electrocution.
•The elephant was found dead in the Meh area of Aurangabad after being in contact with an electric wire; post-mortem report awaited.
•It was previously trapped in an Indrapuri Barrage gate in Rohtas, rescued, and then moved towards Aurangabad.
•For 15-20 days, it caused terror in Rohtas villages, killing cattle and damaging crops and huts.
•Questions are being raised about the Forest Department's failure to safely return the elephant to its natural habitat.
