Central Secretariat to Become Triple Interchange Metro Station, Benefiting 60,000 Employees
- •Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) plans to upgrade Central Secretariat to a triple interchange station under Phase-5A.
- •The station will connect the existing Yellow Line and Violet Line with the Magenta Line extension (Central Vista Corridor - R.K. Ashram Marg to Indraprastha).
- •This expansion will benefit over 60,000 government employees and more than 2 lakh daily commuters in Central Delhi.
- •The new connectivity aims to link all government buildings to the metro network, reducing private vehicle use and pollution.
- •Other stations like Azadpur, New Delhi, Lajpat Nagar, and Inderlok are also slated to become triple interchange stations in Phase 4 and 5(A).
