India's Trade Deficit Narrows to $27.1 Billion in February as Imports Fall

•India's merchandise trade deficit fell to $27.1 billion in February, down from $34.68 billion in January.
•The reduction was primarily driven by a significant decrease in imports, which dropped to $63.71 billion from $71.24 billion.
•Exports remained almost stable at $36.61 billion, a positive sign amidst global economic uncertainties.
•Experts attribute lower imports to softening international commodity prices and limited domestic demand.
•Despite monthly improvement, the February deficit of $27.1 billion is significantly higher than $14.42 billion in the same month last year.
