Axis Bank to inject Rs 1,500 crore into lending arm, shares jump 2%

Axis Bank announced a Rs 1,500 crore investment in its consumer lending arm, Axis Finance, causing shares to rise nearly 2% on March 18.
•
The infusion will be completed by March 2027 through cash in multiple tranches.
•
This move follows the Reserve Bank of India easing rules on overlapping activities between banks and their subsidiaries.
•
Axis Finance, a non-bank finance company, will present a revised growth plan and reevaluate capital needs in April.
•
As of March 31, 2025, Axis Finance managed assets worth Rs 41,583 crore.
