Super Vasuki: India's 3.5 Km Longest Freight Train Revealed

India's longest freight train, 'Super Vasuki', is 3.5 km long with 295 wagons and 6 engines.

It was launched on August 15, 2022, to mark 75 years of India's independence.

Primarily transports 27,000 tons of coal from Korba, Chhattisgarh, to Rajnandgaon, Nagpur, in 11 hours 20 minutes.
•
Its capacity is three times that of normal trains, sufficient to power a 3000-megawatt plant for a day.
•
Long freight trains like Super Vasuki save time and fuel, making goods transport more efficient for Indian Railways.
