•Despite no formal training, she developed her skills by listening to gramophone records and worked with legends like Manna Dey (at 16), Mohammed Rafi, and Begum Akhtar.
•Known as 'Lavani Samragyi' by Acharya Atre, she popularized Lavani, singing in multiple languages including Hindi, Gujarati, Bhojpuri, Tamil, and Punjabi.
•Her illustrious career spanning over 60 years earned her prestigious awards including the Lata Mangeshkar Award (2010), Sangeet Natak Akademi Award (2012), and Padma Shri (2022).
