Veteran Hindi cinema actor Om Prakash, known for making audiences laugh and emotional, never became a lead hero but often overshadowed big stars.
•
His film journey began unexpectedly at a wedding feast, where director Dalsukh Pancholi discovered him.
•
He received his first film offer for the 1950 film 'Daasi' and was paid only 80 rupees.
•
Om Prakash started his career at All India Radio in Lahore in 1937, earning 25 rupees a month, and his program 'Fatehdeen' became very popular.
•
He worked in over 300 films, including 'Padosan', 'Chupke Chupke', 'Namak Halaal', and 'Sharaabi', and passed away on February 21, 1998.
