Child in ICU after finding 2-inch worm in cold drink; Vadodara family files complaint
•A 3-year-old child in Vadodara was admitted to SSG Hospital's ICU after consuming a cold drink containing a 2-inch long worm.
•The child's father, Arvind Parmar, bought the tetra pack, which had an expiry date of May 2026, but a foul smell and black liquid emerged when poured into a glass.
•Doctors found a large worm inside the juice pack, leading to the child being placed under intensive observation for 48-72 hours due to potential poisonous effects.
•A police complaint has been filed, and the juice packet is being sent to the Food and Drugs Department for investigation.
•Arvind Parmar urged parents to pour cold drinks into transparent glasses and appealed to companies for transparent packaging and shorter expiry dates.
