New 'Doolysaurus huhmini' Dinosaur Discovered in South Korea After 15 Years
•Paleontologists in South Korea identified a new dinosaur species, 'Doolysaurus huhmini', the first in 15 years on the Korean Peninsula.
•Named after the famous 1983 South Korean cartoon character 'Dooly the Little Dinosaur', reflecting its baby status.
•Micro-CT scans at the University of Texas revealed hidden skull fragments and other bones inside a stone block, marking the first discovery of dinosaur skull parts in Korea.
•The dinosaur was a 2-year-old, turkey-sized 'Thescelosaurid' with hair-like filaments, estimated to grow only twice its size.
•Found in 94-113 million-year-old rocks on Aphae-do Island, Doolysaurus swallowed stones (gastroliths) to digest a diet of plants, insects, and small animals.
