SSC Issues New Recruitment Guidelines: Category Change Opportunity, 16 'Tainted' Candidates Banned

SSC released new teacher recruitment guidelines, allowing candidates to change categories (General to SC/ST/PH) as per Kolkata High Court directive.
•
Category changes led to 165 new candidates qualifying for IX-X interviews, while 140 were removed from the previous list.
•
A new preliminary interview list has been published, maintaining a 1:1.6 vacancy-candidate ratio.
•
SSC cancelled the candidature of 16 individuals from the 'tainted' list due to alleged involvement in the 2016 recruitment scam.
•
These 16 candidates are barred from the 2025 recruitment process and face potential legal action for their alleged OMR mismatch.
